Steel structures / Buildings for agriculture
In agriculture, storage and protection spaces are essential for carrying out the activity in efficient conditions. Farmers need agricultural warehouses, machinery halls, sheds, grain spaces, feed warehouses, silos and metal constructions adapted to each type of production.
Agricultural buildings made by MeCAD are designed to provide:
- safe storage spaces for seeds, grains, feed and agricultural materials
- shelters for agricultural machinery (tractors, combines, plows, trailers)
- durable metal structure, sized for snow and wind loads specific to the area
- side closures with corrugated sheet metal or thermal insulation panels, depending on the destination
- possibility of creating sheds open on one or two sides, ideal for machinery or quick storage
- quick assembly and reduced costs compared to classic buildings
These agricultural halls are designed to meet the real needs of farmers.
During agricultural campaigns, one of the biggest advantages is the speed of operation:
- trucks and trailers can quickly unload into storage spaces
- harvesting blockages caused by lack of available space are avoided
- continuous flow of machinery in the field and at the base is maintained
Metal agricultural structures offer maximum flexibility: they can be used both for storing seeds and for parking machinery, being easily adapted to any type of farm — vegetable, livestock or mixed.
Examples of constructions (click on the category for examples of works):
1. Soprons are used, during the agricultural campaign, as intermediate (fast) storage spaces, so that the seeds are protected from the weather until they are moved to silos or loaded into trucks and delivered. During the rest of the year they are used as parking spaces (shelter) for agricultural machinery.
2. Warehouses are metal halls, equipped with high concrete walls, on the perimeter. During the agricultural campaign they are used as quick storage spaces for seeds. The seeds stored here can be kept for a longer period of time, if the necessary conditions are ensured (seed ventilation).
3. Greenhouses for vegetables. The resistance structure is made of galvanized metal profiles, joined with high-strength screws. The roof is usually made of UV-resistant polycarbonate panels, but, depending on requirements, it can also be made of PVC foil. The walls are made of PVC foil fixed on a mechanism that allows it to be raised or lowered for internal ventilation.
